The Senate has approved the amendment to the budget law that will allocate an additional €6 million in 2026 to support activities promoting Naples worldwide, giving further momentum to the results achieved during the city’s 2,500th anniversary celebrations.

“This represents an additional recognition of the extraordinary potential of Naples and its territory: a hub of culture, diplomacy, creativity, business excellence, universities, and research—an Italian icon to be shared with the world. The new funding must support this vision, while also sustaining a territory that requires continuous attention from institutions. With this in mind, we are entering a new year in which we will aim to consolidate what has been built so far, through projects capable of generating lasting value,” said Prefect Michele Di Bari, President of the National Committee.

The news of the amendment’s approval came during the Napoli Musa Christmas Event, held at the Prefecture of Naples to review the activities carried out for the city’s 2,500th anniversary celebrations.

The event provided an opportunity to retrace the work of the Comitato Nazionale Neapolis 2500 in 2025, established jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, which implemented a broad program of initiatives along four main areas: culture, diplomacy, business, and internationalization.

As Naples approaches its 2,500th birthday, universally recognized on December 21, the National Committee Neapolis 2500 invites the entire community to participate in and share this anniversary, a symbol of pride and collective identity.
