Over 250 Authorities, Entrepreneurs, Associations, and Professionals Attend the Napoli Musa Christmas Event
More than 250 representatives from the city—including authorities, entrepreneurs, associations, and professionals—participated today in the Napoli Musa Christmas Event, held at the Prefecture of Naples to celebrate the 2,500th anniversary of the city’s founding.
The event highlighted the work carried out in 2025 by the National Committee Neapolis 2500, established jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, which implemented a broad program of initiatives across four main areas: culture, diplomacy, business, and internationalization.
At the conclusion of such a special year, it was announced that on 26 December, Rai 3 will broadcast the premiere of the film “Natale a Casa Croce”, directed by cinema maestro Pupi Avati, who is also a member of the National Committee Neapolis 2500. The film explores the life of Benedetto Croce, Italian philosopher and senator, highlighting his political and scholarly achievements, his dedication to freedom, and his philosophical vision. The film will later be available on RAI Play, offering a unique opportunity to revisit the life of such a historically significant figure for the city of Naples, making it accessible to the entire Italian audience.
During the evening, the first edition of Napoli 2500 was presented to Prefect Michele di Bari, President of the National Committee Neapolis 2500. This project combines history, culture, wine, and numismatic art, born from the collaboration between the Lucca Mint, the oldest mint in Europe founded in 650 AD, and Vinum Fabulas, a Caserta-based company specializing in collectible narrative wines.
The project traces the mythological origins of the city, from the legend of the three sirens, through the Greek period with the Cumaean colonists, to Hellenistic Neapolis. Following meticulous historical and iconographic research, the Lucca Mint produced a silver didrachm inspired by one of the most representative coins of the era, featuring Partenope. The coin is embedded in a bottle of Piedirosso from the Phlegraean Fields, a wine already celebrated in Roman times and mentioned by Pliny the Elder in Naturalis Historia, reflecting the historical and cultural continuity of the region.

It is a source of pride for Neapolitans living here in the heart of the city, as well as for those abroad who maintain a living connection with their roots, spreading the values, culture, and beauty of Naples worldwide. The city’s birthday is a shared heritage: an occasion to reaffirm the identity of a community that, despite its diversity, recognizes itself in a millennia-old history and a universal vocation. It is an invitation to look forward with confidence, aware that the city’s strength lies in its ability to unite, welcome, and inspire.”
As the city approaches its 2,500th birthday, officially recognized on 21 December, the National Committee Neapolis 2500 invites the entire community to participate and share in this anniversary, a symbol of pride and collective identity. Citizens are encouraged to take part in ongoing initiatives such as visiting the exhibition “Totò e la sua Napoli” at Palazzo Reale until 25 January 2026, or experiencing the interactive multimedia installation Oculus-Spei at the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, which combines faith, art, and innovation.
The commitment of the National Committee Neapolis 2500 does not end this year. In 2026, its activities will continue with new projects designed to further express and amplify the extraordinary value of the city and its territory on a global stage.
